Family Support
As many of you already know, we currently have a Local 11 Member was in a terrible accident and is currently facing a long road toward recovery.
While we pray for the full recovery of our injured Brother, we must remember to support and help his family.
We are currently asking Members in Local 11 and 211 to volunteer their time in transporting family members to and from the hospital.
Volunteers are needed to pickup family members at their home and transport them to the hospital. The family will stay at the hospital during the allotted visiting time. Once visiting hours is over, volunteers will be need to pick-up the family at the hospital and bring them home.
Stay with the family during visiting hours at the hospital is not required. However, we encourage volunteers to allot some time to remain on-site. In order to assist the family and make sure they are secure for the visit.
So to make it easier on the volunteers, transportation duties are broken into two shifts. Shifts are as followed:
Pickup – this is the time volunteers will need to pickup the family at their home and transport them to the hospital.
Take Home – This is the time volunteers will need to pickup the family at the hospital and transport them home.
(As of 04/08/2010)
Pickup Time: 3PM
Take Home Time: 9PM
For members who wish to visit: Visiting hours are from 12PM to 7PM & 8PM to 9PM
Any member wishing to volunteer and help, please call Colleen Flores. Colleen has gracility volunteered her time to help the Local with organizing and maintaining a transportation schedule for the family.
A copy of the schedule will be posted online. The schedule will be updated on a daily basis. All members are encouraged to check the Family Support Calendar to find out which shift needs volunteers prior to calling Colleen.
